Reacting to the development, Adeleke, while giving a lecture to police officers and men from Ogun and Lagos commands, called the strike threat bogus.

He called on police personnel to be calm, law abiding, avoid mutiny actions, focus on their duties and uphold the integrity of the Nigerian Police as a disciplined organization with rules and guidelines established to deal with grievances, if any.

Adeleke said: ‘The IG, Usman Baba, has measures in place to make sure the officers are comfortable, and he is dealing with the review of death benefits as well as welfare issues. to be, including salary increase, pension, kits, etc.

“The IG has accelerated its efforts to ensure full implementation of the increase in salaries and allowances proposed by the President and approved by the Federal Executive Council, even as it continues to provide kits, equipment, bulletproof vests, the cooperative society housing program, the renovation of training schools, the upgrading of the police training program, the supply and deployment of technology to boost the ICT-enabled police.

Baba had previously given assurances that the wellbeing of the base was being given special attention, promising that the proposed new pay structure would soon be implemented.
